CROSSPOINT PLANNING: RETIREMENT ON YOUR TERMS

Our Story

Traditional financial advice tells you how to build wealth, but completely ignores how to give yourself permission to use it. Portfolio growth becomes the scoreboard, and the actual point of the wealth — a life lived fully with the people you love — gets treated like an afterthought.

We started Crosspoint Planning to change that.

Our clients have saved consistently, invested wisely, and arrived at the doorstep of retirement with more than enough — but lack the confidence to commit and actually live it. We work at the intersection of financial planning and behavioral psychology, because we've seen firsthand that a technically perfect plan fails if the person following it is paralyzed by fear or guilt.

That means we handle the technical side: tax-efficient withdrawals, sequence-of-return risk, healthcare costs, estate considerations. But it also means we ask the questions most advisors skip: What does a good week look like at 72? What are you putting off, and why? What would you regret not doing while you still can?

The best part of building a nest egg is what it lets you do — for yourself, your family, and your community. Helping the people we work with thrive in that chapter, not just survive it, is the reason we exist.

Andrew Lancaster, CFP®
Lead Financial Planner
Overview & Responsibilities
As your Lead Financial Planner, my mission is to take the complexity out of wealth management and build a personalized roadmap designed around your unique values, family goals, and life ambitions.
Core Responsibilities to You:
  • Behavioral Guidance: Rooting your financial strategy in your personal values, lifetime goals, and unique story.
  • Proactive Tax & Income Planning: Looking forward to capture opportunities like Roth conversions, tax-loss harvesting, and optimized retirement withdrawal streams.
  • Your Financial Quarterback: Collaborating directly with your outside professionals, like your CPA or estate attorney, to ensure your plan is flawlessly executed.
  • Continuous Stewardship: Providing ongoing support and regular check-ins to ensure your strategy dynamically adapts as real life evolves.
Background & Experience
After earning an economics degree from UC Berkeley, I held positions at Goldman Sachs and Sanctuary Wealth Services, before arriving at Crosspoint Capital Management in 2017. My background has gave me a strong foundation in how markets work and how institutions manage money.  But over time, I became more interested in how people make financial decisions than how portfolios do. That shift led me to obtain the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification in 2024.

I am also the creator of The New Diligence personal finance blog, where I write weekly posts about the intersection of money & psychology.
Personal side:
After 10 wonderful years living in the bay area, I moved back to Orange County to be closer to family. I am an avid beach volleyball player and ski enthusiast, often travelling to new ski resorts across continents during the winter season. I am joined at home by my wife, Katelyn, a second grade teacher, and our daughter, Quinn.

Experience
Prior to starting Crosspoint, I was a Vice President and Portfolio Manager for ThinkEquity LLC in the Asset Management division. Before ThinkEquity, I held positions at Banc of America Investment Services (BAS) and Wedbush Morgan Securities. I hold a FINRA series 7, 24, 55, and 66 licenses and earned a B.S.E. from St. Mary’s College of California.
